Integrity Buenos Aires Victoire Roux Doll!

Just some quick photos of my new doll, an exclusive from Integrity, the Buenos Aires Victoire Roux doll.  I won a spot in the lottery for the chance to purchase her.  For the price point of $99 plus shipping, at least on first glance, I'm impressed!

The blue eyeshadow I admit is off putting at first, but I really think it is because of her light colored outfit.  I plan to redress her in something with dark tones.  I bet she will look fantastic in a classic "little black dress".

I haven't fully examined her yet since work has been so busy, and left me so tired each evening this week, but I hope to do a more thorough exam and photo shoot with her this weekend.

For now, here are a few shots of her still in the box.

Tonner's Basic Patsy #4 Auburn Doll Has Arrived!

I kept my dignity when the UPS driver arrived late this afternoon, mostly because I was still working when the driver pulled up, and my hubby received the package.  I still kept my dignity when my hubby brought the doll into my home office.  I kept my inner kid's jumping in excitement all internal.  I didn't even pull a muscle from the effort that took.  :D

I already have a Tonner Patsy, the 2013 New Year doll.  I adore her.  But she has a different personality than the new Patsy Basic #4.  It's mostly in the eyebrows, but their makeup palettes are slightly different, and their wigs make them look like cousins, rather than identical twins.

Basic #4 comes in a short bob wig (mine is auburn) with a white hair bow.  She has a pink outfit consisting of a tank top and bloomers.  The tank top closes with snaps in the back.  She also has socks, and little shoes with straps and tiny seed bead buttons.  The shoes come on and off easily, but I think the tiny buttonhole will quickly wear if I choose to swap her shoes frequently.

Basic #4's wig is definitely glued to her head securely, where New Year Patsy's wig, although listed as being glued, came as if she were designed to easily swap wigs.  The little auburn bob style gives her a young appearance, while New Year's long curls make her look a little older.

I may want to swap Basic #4's wig eventually, and when I do it will take me patience and work to get free.  However, in the meantime I'll not have to worry about her wig slipping on her head just when I get her in the perfect pose!

I compared Basic #4 to Ann Estelle, and to my Bambicrony Lottie dolls.  Basic #4 stands about ten inches tall, roughly the same as Ann Estelle and the BJD Bambicroy Lottie.

You can also see that the skin tones between the two Patsy dolls are slightly different, even though both are listed to have the "cameo" skin tone.  It's barely noticeable, but Basic #4 is just a shade darker in skin tone.

Basic #4 also has a slightly worried look, compared to New Year's more optimistic eyebrown arch.  Both are still extremely sweet, but definitely have different personalities as a result.  New Year seems more confident, and maybe even a little more mature.

Both of their eyes are inset, and have a green hazel tone.  I definitely love Basic #4's eyes with her hair color!

Basic #4's knee joints also give her extra posing options.  I hope we will one day see a child doll like this with elbow joints, as well, because there's only so many poses you can put her in with stiff arms, but those knee joints are flexible!  Look at her pose!

For the base price of $89.99, Patsy Basic #4 is worth every penny.  If you have the funds, I recommend you snap one up now while they are still in stock.  Once they sell out, the eBay prices are going to sky rocket.

Patsy can easily swap clothes with Ann Estelle.  With the BJD Bambicrony Lottie doll, the swap will be trickier, because the BJD is skinnier.  But props like furniture will definitely work for all.  This is a great size to work with, being big enough to find props and make clothing without too much trouble or cost (unless you choose to go all out), but not so big that you can't display them on a bookshelf.

Be sure to check out my gallery, which has a lot more pictures!

New Tonner Doll Joins My Collection-Perfect Morning Cami

I was lucky enough to have some funds when Tonner Doll had a 15% off plus free shipping sale about a week ago.  I've been eyeing the Cami dolls for a while, ever since I first saw her as Cinderella.  So when I could get one for under $50 with shipping, I jumped at the chance.  I purchased Tonner's Perfect Morning Cami, redhead.

I have realized I love red heads when it comes to my dolls.  I look around my collection, and several either came as redheads (rooted), or with red wigs (both from the factory, and from me purchasing red wigs to swap).  I did debate between the brunette and the red head, but there's something about that red hair that called to me more.

She comes with a sweet stretch tank/shorts outfit.  Normally I just sell off the outfit on the basic dolls, but this one is very versatile, and I think I will keep it, at least for now.  It doesn't have any goofy frills that don't fit my style.  :D

Her neck isn't extremely posable, but that seems to be the case for any doll that isn't a full BJD.  Her arms are very flexible, however, and she can reach up to touch her hair without it looking awkward.

I believe she shares the same body as Antoinette, which is wonderful for me since I needed to do a "fire sale" on some of my dolls recently, and the Antoinette I had was one I had to sacrifice to pay some bills.  I still want to get an Antoinette again, but I'm glad to have the similar body type to sew for.  While Antoinette has smaller, more realistic eyes, Cami's are big and wide, reminding me of Ellowyne Wilde.  But she also has a slightly bigger, wider face, and everything is in scale.  She has a great personality, and I think will become one of my favorite dolls to photograph.

A New Obsession Begins!

I scored sweet Tonner Patsy's New Year from eBay. I knew I'd love her. She truly is more adorable than photos can show.

Even better, this version of Patsy has a removable wig. I won't have to fight against glue like the basic versions I am impatiently waiting on shipping date information for.

Her outfit is beautiful, and very well made. Sometimes you get a dressed doll and the outfit feels like an afterthought.

I can hardly wait for one of the new basic Patsy dolls to be released. I will be very interested to compare a basic Patsy to this West Coast Luncheon exclusive. If they at least have as expressive of eyes as this lovely girl, I will be thrilled.

Now off to introduce Patsy to Ann Estelle. Other than Patsy having knees that bend, they share the same body sculpt. It will be fun to make outfits for them to swap. And they definitely will need a custom doll room with furniture at some point in the future!

Let the obsession over this new doll commence! :D
